My dear writer, hello! Thank you for matching to me, and I hope you'll enjoy writing your story. Feel free to mix and match my likes, prompts and ideas for different fandoms, or come up with scenarios I did not come up with, or experimenting; as long as my DNWs are met, I'm completely fine with you going ODAO. I love all the iddy, all-out, unrestrained things, and I can't wait to see what you write.

  • Hurt/comfort! When in doubt, go with h/c: physical, emotional, captivity scenarios, caretaking, whipping, dungeons, bullet wounds, wilderness survival, whatever. I love hurt/comfort within a relationship context (ships or gen: family ties, friendship, comradeship, all is good), as an opening for one character to be hurt and for the other(s) to be outraged/terrified/comforting on their behalf. I am particular about who gets whumped, and will usually indicate so in prompts.
  • Found families, tight friendships, us-against-the-world, people finding and keeping each other, providing kindness and warmth against the dark.
  • Hope and kindness, Clair universes, stories where the entropy tries its hardest but doesn't win.
  • Loyalty in all forms! From ritualized (oaths, kneeling, ring-kissing, knights and bodyguards and henchmen and so on) to more casual ways, like standing up for your friends.
  • Self-sacrifice (metaphorical and quite literal) and martyrdom (ditto).
  • Tropey AUs - space opera! high fantasy! historical! pirates!
  • Outsider POVs.

DNWs:

  • Hurt no comfort.
  • Partner betrayal of any kind or infidelity.
  • Unhappy endings and permanent character death ("presumed dead" and "died but got better" are fine).
  • A/B/O, hurtcomfortverse, any other 'verses with built-in biology-based inequality.
  • Hanahaki AUs and variations thereof.
  • Mundane AUs.
  • Non-con and dub-con front and center in the story (as a piece of backstory or an implied threat it's fine).

Books of the Raksura - Martha Wells Moon (Books of the Raksura)

Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence,Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Character Development, Hurt/Comfort

I'm forever struck by how delightful a protagonist Moon is, with his mixture of naivete, cynicism, snarky humor, desperate need to belong, incredible protectiveness, and vulnerability hidden under what he thinks is an angry and opaque exterior. So - basically - I just want to read more about Moon and his various families and how he settles into them and defines himself by them and changes them. I've nominated Moon only to give you the broadest possible pool of relationships you could write about - some people I'll mention in my prompts, but feel free just to pick anybody else who strikes your fancy, or avoid the prompts with characters who don't work for you.

  • Early days in the Indigo Cloud, between the first and second book - it's pretty obvious from the books that most of the Arbora solidly adore him by his point, which Moon, obviously, misses by about an ell, so anything to that effect would be really wonderful.
  • Anything about Moon interacting with friendly consorts from other courts, because they're 'his people' too, to an extent, but in a different way from how his court or his birthcourt are; I just like this whole dynamic, from Moon being a surrogate older brother-ish figure to Ember to Moon getting kinda crush-y on older consorts.
  • And speaking of which, are there any other line grandfathers in the Reaches, besides Stone? Would Moon ever meet them?
  • And alternately, Moon as a line-grandfather (let's just go with... unwidowed one. Let's pretend it works). Old and big and unkillable and even less possible to control and everybody being in a bit of awe and a bit of respect and a bit of 'oh, facepalm' at him.
  • The entirety of Moon and Stone's filial relationship is one big source of joy for me, and I would read literally anything about it, especially something with the reversed dynamic when it's Moon who cares or worries about Stone, and Stone Does Not Know how to take that.
  • Moon and Malachite, wherein Malachite is very scary and will obviously give Moon everything he ever wanted and he is never going to ask except that sometimes he does and it makes her so happy, and they're both extremely bad at talking about it.
  • And, of course, Moon and his adopted half-Fell siblings, and the development of this relationship - Shade's worship, Lethe's easy outgoing liking for him.
  • And Consolation's envious, awed hunger for connection, too. I bet you anything that if Moon was allowed to spend at least a week together with Consolation, he'd adopt her and her court.
  • Will anybody, ever tell Moon that he can pretend to be a hardboiled antisocial badass all he wants, but he literally bonds to everything that moves, starting from random groundlings and ending with random non-evil Fell? I would just read a story about Moon just dragging weirder and weirder beings into being adopted by the court and the court just going like, ah well, this is Moon, might as well.
  • I was pretty fascinated by the Moon-Chime-Jade-Balm quartet on that reread, and I would be pretty interested in some casefic that focuses on the Moon-Balm and Chime-Jade interactions - if they're separated somehow, if somebody's lost, for example? How do they work along those lines.
  • (Jade's homicidal rage on Moon's behalf every time somebody threatens him will never stop being hot.)
  • And so on! And et cetera! Those above are some possibilities, but honestly, it's such a big, beautiful, messy world and the emotional setting of those books is such an ideal setting to all my narrative kinks so pretty much everything will make me very, very happy.

Final Fantasy XV
Group: Noctis Lucis Caelum/Lunafreya Nox Fleuret/Ignis Scientia

Action/Adventure, AU - Canon Divergence, Fix-it fic, Hurt/Comfort

This is the rare-3 that's very dear to my heart. I adore the idea of Noct bringing Ignis into his marriage as a dowry, and Ignis transferring part of their loyalty to Luna, and the three of them navigating their complicated relationship together (in whatever combination speaks to you; maybe an equilateral triangle, maybe a V thing with Noctis in the middle, or maybe even some combination of sexual and platonic love - as long as they all end up being equally important to each other).

I love all three of them - Ignis with his perfect combination of loyalty, competence, hidden dorkitude and high martyrdom; Noct who's sometimes childish and sometimes petty, but who loves people a whole lot and learns to walk to his destiny so well; and Luna with her healing and her grace and her iron will and marching onward to subdue the gods and sweeps armored soldiers aside with disdain. I basically just want to see them together, being glorious.

Some scenarios! As you might've noticed, I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort, especially for Ignis to be hurt, so if our interests align, feel free to pour it in liberally.

  • No-Destiny AUs where the threat from the Empire exists, and the marriage to Luna is still arranged, but there's no Ardyn or gods or mystical threats, and the three of them have to navigate their relationship and the politics together.
  • (Especially if they enter a poly relationship of some sort, either a triangle or a V with Noct in the center, and have to hide it from their minders and from outside treats. Also, revolution won't go amiss!)
  • Any variation of Luna-on-the-roadtrip with Noct and Ignis and the other bros, all of them having badass adventures.
  • Ignis makes his way to the altar in Altissia earlier and saves Luna as well as Noct (preferably at the same or higher personal cost), and it changes the course of history.
  • Luna and Ignis in WOR, holding the world together for Noct's return with teeth, nails, magic and anger.
  • When Niflhelm strikes Tenebrae, Regis has to flee, and Ignis and Noct are both left behind and raised with Luna in captivity.
  • A roleswap where Ignis is the Oracle, and Luna is the Heir of Lucis, and Noct is her advisor.

The Goblin Emperor - Katherine Addison Maia Drazhar

AU - Canon Divergence, Character Development, Established Relationship, Hurt/Comfort

I absolutely adore this book, a story of a previously powerless, painfully self-conscious, horribly isolated person doing his utmost and careful best to do what he has to do. Maia's, at his core, first and foremost kind, and he brings this kindness with him as a banner and as a shield, into a situation over which he has little control and in which he has initially no allies, and sets out to reclaim his empire, one person at a time.

Some prompts that come to mind (but by no means feel constrained by them):

  • A development of his relationship with Cala and Beshelar and navigating further the friends/nonecharei divide; and ditto for Maia and Csevet.
  • Politics! We saw Maia growing into his role of a ruler; how would he look in it after several years, what project would he undertake after the bridge is built? What civil reforms will he usher in?
  • Maia and his relationship with his mother's religion: would it become more mainstream in the court, in Maia's wake? Or would it always be something deeply private and guarded for him?
  • Maia on a diplomatic visit to his grandfather, navigating both the cultural divide and the family relationship.
  • Maia and Csethiro, exploring and defining their marriage, be it romantic in earnest or something of a more complicated, platonic arrangement.
  • Maia in peril: a kidnapping! A dangerous journey! Another, more successful attack within the court! A lingering sickness! A riding accident! A sea journey!
  • Maia's birthdays over the years.

Fandom-specific DNW caveat: pretty much every pairing is fine, but please no alluding to Maia being unhappy with Csethiro (Maia/somebody with him and Csethiro being in a peaceful lavender arrangement is fine).

Tarot Sequence - K.D. Edwards Group: Brandon Saint John & Rune Saint John & Addam Saint Nicholas; Group: Brandon "Brand" Saint John/Rune Saint John/Addam Saint Nicholas; Group: Brandon "Brand" Saint John & Rune Saint John

Action/Adventure, Canon-Style Plot - Freeform, Established Relationship, Hurt/Comfort, Mystery/Procedural

I love those three; I love the burning intensity of Rune and Brand, and Addam's steady stability, kindness and love, and I love the high-octane, high stakes, high nonsense world their inhabit, with its action and dangers and magic and grand gestures. And I adore Brand in all his grumpy, paranoid, practical, overprotective, angry glory, and I want him to to get whumped ten ways to Sunday and be unequivocally shown he's loved, adored and valued.

  • Rune and Brand as traumatized, bereaved children thrust into the unfamiliar and dangerous House, turning to each other to cope with their lives.
  • Rune and Brand before the beginning of the book, doing their magical mercenary thing: casefics! hijinks! getting into trouble and getting each other out of trouble! Patching each other up after especially hairy cases! Five times Brand Got Hurt Protecting Rune And One Time He Didn't!
  • Brand is kidnapped by Rune's enemies to force Rune to do their bidding, and this Does Not Go As Planned.
  • (And as a corollary to such scenarios as above, Rune raining down the Holy Vengeance on Brand's behalf - while Brand is horrified and angry at Rune for risking himself - is a plus in literally any story.)
  • My hands-down favorite part of the book is Rune telling Lord Tower he will walk if Lord Tower ever abandons Brand to danger again: I wonder if he'll ever have a case to follow through with his commitment? How would that happen and what the fallout would be?
  • There also was this moment where Brand got momentarily mindfucked by Ciaran and Rune had reacted very strongly: had something like this happened before? Or could it happen again?
  • Some kind of outsider POV on their relationship, especially in the moment of high danger, would be pretty awesome.
  • Addam and Brand teaming up for some reason and Brand risking himself to protect Addam, either for Rune's sake or, unexpectedly to himself, for his own.
  • Brand and Addam trapped together or on the run, with Brand injured, snarky and unhappy, and Addam keeping him steady.
  • Brand's out of commission due to illness and injury, for a significant amount of time or permanently; he's Not Taking It Well.

Psmith - P. G. Wodehouse Group: Mike Jackson/Rupert Psmith

Action/Adventure, Fantasy, Hurt/Comfort

Those books are my perennial favorites; I adore the kind hilarity of them, and the intensity of the relationship (whether it's taken as friendship or romance). Psmith is one of my most favorite characters of all time. I love his surety and his unflappability, his low key but endless loyalty and protectiveness, the way he manages to warp the world around himself but does it with benevolence, the way the narrative pokes fun at him but allows him to stand unhumiliated. And I love that Mike is his foil but never the butt of the narrative joke, that Mike's intrinsic value is never questioned or doubted, by the text or by each other. I love how different they are and how wholeheartedly they embrace each other nevertheless, neither trying to change or undermine each other, how much they just - adore and accept and support each other.

And in context of all of this I really, really like the idea of Psmith's version of being a Stoic Woobie, except he's more of a Languid Woobie, in a sense of trying to misdirect and never admitting to being in trouble and needing help nevertheless.

And so!

  • ...Having said what I did about Psmith self-surety, I would also read a lot about Psmith secretly having doubts about himself and his own worth in relation to Mike and trying to let Mike go for his own good (family, career, etc.), and Mike having none of it.
  • And also literally all the stories about Psmith getting into some trouble he can't get himself out of (ideally on Mike's behalf), and trying to hide it or make light of it, and Mike becoming the rescuer and taking care of him. I always thought that Psmith would make an awesome 'pay no attention to my troubles, have a languid anecdote' kind of iron woobie - iron woobie in a velvet glove? Is it a thing? In any case, yes.
  • (For example, I loved Psmith's descent from rich heirdom to self-supporting poverty and the way he tried to deal with it by himself and without burdening anybody. Take it to the extreme, and I'll be here with bells on.)
  • But also something with a more action/adventure bent and injuries, kidnappings, and accident (see: Psmith, Journalist, only sans racism and Mike is actually there). Psmith Hides A Supernatural Secret (he's an elf! he's a selkie! he's an alien!) And Why Would Mike Care No Really.
  • The super self-indulgent slavefic option: Mike the bewildered owner rescuing a languid, seemingly unconcerned slave!Psmith and slowly discovering the depths of trouble that will bring? Psmith the jaded, high-ranking slave taking a newly enslaved Mike under his wing and getting into all the trouble trying to keep him safe (and, being Psmith, probably engineering a revolution in the process?)
  • Also all the setting AUs! Be it high fantasy or space opera or high sea piracy, those two trampling through it would be amazing.

Fandom-specific DNW caveat: Please no happy heterosexuality for either Mike or Psmith. They can be platonic partners or friends, but I would rather not read about them marrying and parting ways.
